Pastoral care lies at the very heart of all we do here at Framlingham College.
For young people to thrive in the classroom, the recital hall, the stage or on the sports field, they have to feel seen, heard and know that they matter.
There are many layers of support in place for every boy and girl, as they navigate their way through their education here at the College. Depending on the stage they are at, the pastoral structures will be slightly different. However, the essence of what we offer is the same across the 3-18 range.
Pastoral care is about forging a strong understanding of each boy and girl through close relationships between the College staff, the parents and the boys and girls themselves. Regular communication, through clear pathways, will allow for potential issues to be well managed and will allow us to provide absolutely the best education for them, both inside and outside the classroom.
At both the Senior and Prep School we have a strong pastoral team headed up by the Pastoral Deputy Heads, Tom Caston and Jo Coventry-King. They work closely with tutors, heads of years, Housemasters / mistresses and the Medical Centre. The school Chaplain is also a trained counsellor and provides a vital niche in the pastoral life of the College. We also do have support from two counsellors should a pupil need more in-depth guidance. We also work collaboratively with parents to ensure children are fully supported and host termly talks on pastoral issues.
At Framlingham we ensure that each and every child feels happy, safe and secure as they complete each step in their education.
