Framlingham College has received special recognition for embedding a strong arts culture and creativity throughout the Prep and Senior School curriculum.

We are delighted to announce that Framlingham College has received a 2026 Gold Award from Artsmark for its ‘wide-reaching commitment to arts and cultural education’.
Awarded by Arts Council England, Artsmark has 20 years’ experience transforming schools through arts and culture, and acknowledges those who support and inspire pupils to pursue the arts.
A spokesperson for Artsmark said: “Framlingham College has demonstrated a thoughtful and wide-reaching commitment to arts and cultural education, underpinned by clear strategic values and a strong sense of purpose.
“The College’s through-school structure supports progression and coherence in the creative curriculum, while its outward-facing ethos fosters engagement with the wider community.
“One notable strength is the school’s commitment to pupil agency which is evident in student-led projects, the success of inclusive co-curricular clubs such as PHAB, and personal testimonies that highlight the arts as a key source of confidence, identity and wellbeing. Another strength lies in the College’s strategic and distributed leadership. The school’s internal networks, such as its interdepartmental creativity audits and commitment to data-informed development, provide a robust foundation for future growth.
“The arts are meaningfully aligned to school values, with creativity visible in the formal and informal life of the school.”
At Framlingham College, we offer a thriving Creative Arts programme, offering Art, Fine Art, Art History, Photography, Textiles, Design and Technology at A-Level, and at the heart of this is the development of creativity in our pupils – creative expression, creative thinking, problem solving, cognitive flexibility; all inherently human skills needed in our ever-changing world.
With our Directors of Art, Design & Technology, being the Heads of Department across both the Senior and the Prep school, we have the advantage of a seamless curriculum and transition from Prep to Senior School, allowing talent and enthusiasm to be uncovered, nurtured and developed.
In our Design Centre, our pupils are supported with creating visually stunning art in many forms, with extraordinary opportunities to express themselves creatively and imaginatively. From traditional painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, fashion and textiles to more modern media such as photography, graphics, film, 3D modelling and animation.
