The Extended Learning Programme is a lecture series designed to offer a bespoke wider curriculum that enriches pupil’s experience and develops the skills necessary for independent learning, whilst providing opportunities for character development. The existing lecture programme will feature speakers from universities, commerce and industry. Speakers include Professor A C Grayling from the New College of Humanities and Dr Ed Packard from Suffolk University, to name but a few. Talks will be followed up by workshops and will enable pupils to experience university style debate and also widen their horizons.
Furthermore all pupils will undertake the ILM Level 2 Award for Young Leaders, ideal for individuals actively engaged in structured learning within a group or community. The aim of the award is to help young learners develop a range of skills and behaviours in leadership, self-management and mentoring, alongside an appreciation of the benefits that can be gained through volunteering. Framlingham College prides itself on pursuing innovation and as such is the first and only independent school in the country offering this course to Sixth-Formers.
All Sixth Form pupils are role models and potential leaders. The development of leadership skills is a real strength of our Sixth Form. A rich diversity of activities beyond the confines of curriculum unlocks enthusiasm, builds self-confidence and develops strengths, which all develop a pupil’s character.
