Educated at Westminster School, Bristol University and London Business School, Charles has lived near Framlingham for over thirty years.
Charles had a career in the City spanning over thirty years, initially with Lazard and then HSBC, where he was Head of UK Advisory. Since retiring in 2017, he has held non-executive and charity roles, including as Senior Independent Director of Diploma PLC, Chair at Prostate Cancer UK, Chair at BMT Group and Audit Chair at Fram Farmers. He is currently the Chair of the Addenbrooke’s Hospital charity, ACT.
He is married to a Suffolk farmer’s daughter and has two sons, a daughter and two grandchildren.
