On Monday and Tuesday of this week, one set of Year 9 pupils were given the opportunity to take part in a small mammal workshop, which was delivered by OF Nathan Le-Moine, who is currently in his third year studying Biological Sciences at UEA.
The workshop covered the topic of biodiversity, conservation and experimental procedure. Part of the workshop involved pupils observing traps and they learnt how to collect data, before setting up their own traps on Monday.
On Tuesday pupils got to see how many mammals they had been able to capture, learnt how to handle them and then went on to identify different species of small mammals. Much enjoyment was had by all the Year 9 pupils lucky enough to take part and the workshop opened their eyes to Biology beyond the classroom.
