On the last two days before half term, 13 groups of Year 9 pupils headed off into the wilds of the Suffolk countryside to battle nettles, sunshine and elusive footpaths on a two day mission to complete their Practice Bronze Expeditions.
Thankfully, many months of Wednesday afternoon Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) lessons paid off, and the majority completed the task in the true spirit of the Award. It is not an easy task and it was never designed to be easy, but it is achievable. Expeditioning must have an element of challenge and those who genuinely see the value of the Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates and put real effort into it will stand out from the crowd.
