Today Year 7 visited Ipswich Gurdwara as part of their study of world religions. On arrival at the Gurdwara we washed our hands, removed our shoes, covered our heads and were shown around this wonderful building.
Our guide, Bhupindar Singh gave a thoughtful and stimulating talk about Sikhism and the philosophy of this fascinating faith. He told the children about the importance of the Gurdwara and the Guru Granth Sahib and what it is like to be a Sikh living in Britain.
The boys and girls listened intently and asked many, many perceptive questions, that clearly thrilled Bhupindar.
Bhupindar complemented the children on their knowledge and gave an open invitation for any of our party to return to the Gurdwara with their families in April.
