At the end of term Year 6 pupils were challenged to channel their collaborative and creative skills. Their task involved working in small groups to create a business pitch to gain support for their ideas to revamp the courtyard area. They were asked to consider use of space, facilities, promotion opportunities and how best to present their ideas. Pupils assigned themselves specific roles within the group and all took it turns to lead certain aspects of the group pitch. The groups then presented their plans to ‘potential investors’ (teachers) and this led to some very competitive and impressive performances. The levels of professionalism, creativity and teamwork were extremely admirable, particularly given the added time constraints. Ideas included: Eco-areas, outdoor aquariums, a maths themed climbing wall, a memory wall, an outdoor coffee area and a full range of inspiring multi-sensory finishes. All ideas will of course be passed onto the Headmaster!
