On Tuesday, Year 4 took a trip into the past to further their understanding of the Anglo-Saxons at West Stow Village. The pupils spent the morning studying artefacts in the museum. Some of them even dressed up in replica clothes and found they would have been rather itchy to wear!

Our guide, Ben, talked about some items from the era and the pupils came up with plenty of questions for him.- they will never look at a toiletry set in the same way! In the afternoon, the group strolled around the reconstructed village and ventured into many of the houses in the grounds. Each house was set up for a different purpose and at the end of the trip we all gathered in the Hall to discuss many Anglo-Saxon themes with the guide. The pupils’ thoroughly enjoyed this educational visit and Miss Miller looks forward to reading through their projects when the children return after Easter.
