Year 4’s were greeted by the arrival of a large tractor from Abbey Farm. All of the children had an opportunity to sit in the drivers cab and they discussed measurements of a tractor compared to those of a standard car.

Back in the classroom, Bruce Kerr explained how certain crops from East Anglia were used to make a number of different foods. We learnt about the difference between an acre and a hectare and the amount of food that could be produced in a one metre square area.

The children were surprised to learn that the middle of maltesers were made from local barley grown in Stowmarket and they were even more surprised when Mr Kerr left some of these edible goodies for us to sample!
