On Tuesday 5th of December, a group of five Year 12 Further Maths students made the trip to Cambridge University to see three different Maths Inspiration lectures from three highly talented speakers.

The first lecture was by Rob Eastaway, who talked about Game Theory and the subject of fairness. The next speaker was Hugh Hunt, who spoke to us about spin and rotation, using examples like the “Wall of Death” to convey his ideas, while Michael Allflatt was taught a lesson he would never forget in the conservation of angular momentum. The final speaker was Matt Parker, who wowed the audience with his ideas on co-ordinate geometry, using programming to literally distort reality.

Thanks go to Mr Norton for taking the Year 12 students to Cambridge, and to the three speakers for their engaging and extremely interesting lectures.
