With the end of term fast approaching Year 12 students were tasked with a series of activities designed to hone their leadership skills ready for the next academic year.
As Year 13s, they will play an integral part in the leadership of the school community. They need to be effective communicators, act as good role models, support and encourage fellow students, assist staff and organise events. With this in mind, they took part in a variety of activities.
There were workshops within which they had to identify their roles and responsibilities before discussing the personal qualities and skills they will need to be successful leaders. Through the use of scenarios, they had to consider how best to respond to a variety of situations that they may face within the course of next year. They also undertook a number of outdoor team bonding exercises. By the end, and all in good spirit, they understood that leadership can take many forms. They are now ready to take things forward this September.
