As part of Post GCSE Activities, Year 11 teamed up with Year 12 physicists for a tour of Sizewell B Power Station in Suffolk run by EDF Energy.
Sizewell B is the UK’s only Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) and also the most modern nuclear power station in the UK. After exploring the visitors centre and having an informative talk, they got their safety gear on and were shown around the site. They even got to hug a turbine that was turning at twice the speed of sound!
