The third Y13 English Society working lunch has taken place and saw our focus shift to 20th and 21st century dystopian writing.
After a brief overview of key literary texts in the genre and some persistent themes in the genre from Mr Goldsmith, Y13 English Literature students discussed their response to dystopias and then worked collaboratively on creating a precis for their own creations. It was a great session with lots of deep thinking on the appeal of seemingly doom-laden worlds. Kudos to Rob in particular for thinking through a fascinating idea in such a short period of time – he’s hoping someone will option the film rights already!
