The U13 girls put on a very proud performance at the IAPS National Finals at Repton School.

Competing alongside 24 of the best hockey playing schools in the country was always going to be a real test, but we are delighted to say that the girls played exceptionally well to reach the quarter-finals of the competition (effectively coming 5th equal in the country).

The morning started well with a 4-0 win against Lambrook Prep from Berkshire and 2-0 v Beaudesert Prep from Wiltshire. However in an uncharacteristic performance, our third match resulted in a defeat against local friends Orwell Park. From leading our group, we now found ourselves third, needing a win and playing free scoring group leaders Eagle House from Berkshire. The girls did not disappoint and recorded an excellent 3-1 win, leaving a gripping final group match against Winchester House from Northamptonshire which we won 1-0.

This meant we faced former national champions Foremarke Hall in the quarter finals. Foremarke (the prep school to Repton) like Framlingham College have a formidable reputation for hockey. An incredibly exciting game of hockey ensued that Foremarke won 4-1, despite our best efforts.

The girls were complimented throughout the day for the way that they played hockey and for the way that they conducted themselves both on and off the pitch. Well done girls and good luck for the regionals in two weeks time.
