The U11 and U13 Girls’ Hockey teams headed out on Friday lunchtime to Witham Hall to kick start their tour weekend. Two fantastic games of hockey were enjoyed, with lots of goals scored by all teams involved and Witham proved to be wonderful hosts.

That evening we headed to Melton Mowbray for our hotel and pizza express meal. Girls were full of spirit, humour and provided some excellent tunes en route.

Saturday saw a hearty breakfast consumed, a recovery swim and the Oakham School annual hockey tournament. Both the U11 and U13 girls lost just one match all weekend against more able opponents. Some superb hockey on show and a genuine sense of camaraderie seen.

Thank you to Oakham for their hospitality and for running a well organised tournament. It was refreshing to play different opponents who stretched our girls. Player of the tournament went to a girl from Oakham, but Beth Gardens was highly recommended and recognised for her ability on the pitch. Teachers Mr Marland, Mrs Ralph, Miss De Podesta and Mrs Kingstone would like to thank the Framlingham touring group. The girls were a total pleasure to take away for the weekend and plenty of happy memories made.
