This March, our annual Academic Scholars’ dinner saw nearly 80 students and staff convene at the College for a splendid evening. A drinks reception in Paul’s Court saw Oscar Welsh entertain with some languid piano jazz before the meal begun.
Between courses, Holly Van Assen and Daisy Ford provided atmospheric musical performances and poetry recitals respectively.
Marty Gionis received thunderous applause for his piece, drawing appreciative gasps as he played two trumpets simultaneously at one point!
Our guest speaker was Dr Kim Ridealgh (OF) who is Lecturer in Sociolinguistics at UEA and has a background in Egyptology. She spoke engagingly about how unexpected academic pathways in life can be and urged our students to be open-minded and pursue their love of their subjects beyond aspiring just for good grades.
