Eleven students and one adult were confirmed in Framlingham College Chapel on Friday 23rd February. The evening proved to be a memorable occasion for all the Confirmands and supporting families – some travelling from Germany to be at the service. The Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, the Rt Rev Martin Seeley, confirmed the students in his typically warm and engaging manner, taking time to visit the students during their preparation classes and getting to know them in advance of the service. The College Chaplain, Rev Brynn Bayman, was delighted that such a spiritual rite of passage is still celebrated as a vital part of our students’ development and education. He was also deeply moved by the courage and maturity of the students to make such a public stand of their Faith and willingness to be open minded to the role of the Numinous in our busy lives. The Headmaster, Paul Taylor said: ‘This was a very special, intimate Service with a real sense of the profound and brave commitment that these boys and girls were making. We are greatly indebted to the Bishop’s warm and heartfelt support of the spiritual life of the College’.
