Fifteen fabulous Framlingham College Prep School mathematicians from Years 7 & 8 achieved certificates of excellence in the UKMT 2017 Junior Mathematics Challenge this year.

The competition, run by the Leeds University based UK Mathematics Trust, is based at Leeds University and aimed at individuals who have a particular talent for Maths. At Fram Prep we enter all Set 1 pupils in both Year 7 and 8 and were thrilled to hear that fifteen pupils reached scores worthy of a Gold, Silver or Bronze Certificate. Congratulations to Matthew Addison, Freya Faulkner, James Goodhead, Cally Craig, Milo Wells, Joseph Cockle, George Pearl, Georgie Gardens, Annabel Sheppard, Jim King, Ruby Boddy, William Singleton, Sophie Pettitt, Emma Williamson and Tabitha Walker. Matt Addison (Year 8) and Jim King (Year 7) also received ‘Best in Year’ certificates with the additional accolade of ‘Best in School’ for Matt. These boys were closely followed by Freya Faulkner (Year 8) and Ruby Boddy (Year 7) so watch out next year boys, the girls are hot on your heels!

Helen Russell, Head of Mathematics, said “ I am delighted with the perseverance, determination and skill shown by all our Junior Challenge Award winners.”
