Every year the pupils at the prep school take part in World Book Day by dressing up and completing literacy-based activities. This year we did something extra. We decided to launch a sponsored Readathon where pupils set their own reading challenge and raised money to buy books for children in hospital.
We raised a staggering £3142. In addition we received 20% of the total raised in Scholastic tokens to spend on new books for the school. We have managed to purchase over 150 brand new titles which will be added to the extensive selection already available in the new school library and in the prep-prep department. We are very proud of all the pupils who took part in this challenge and hope that all the children will benefit greatly from the new books we now own.
