The RAF Section visited the RAF Museum at Hendon in North London on Sunday for their Autumn Term Field Day. It was appropriate to go there to celebrate 100 Years of the RAF this year and also to remember the lost aircrew of WW1 in this the 100th year since the Armistice.
The Museum has an excellent WW1 hangar, recently installed, and has many other improvements and updates to mark the 100 years of the RAF. It was striking to see the growth in air power during WW1 – from 2000 in 1914 to more than 110,000 at the close of hostilities.
