Our Year 2 Prep School pupils travelled to Aldeburgh to visit the iconic Red House – the final home of English composer Benjamin Britten.

Britten lived in the late-17th century red-brick house from 1957 until his death in 1976. Now part of the Britten Pears Arts Foundation, the house is one of the UKs leading centres for music research, exhibitions and to showcase archives of Britten’s work.

Pupils had the rare opportunity to experience the rich history of Britten’s work, explore his wonderful home, delve into the 1,300 pieces of artwork and even compose some music for themselves.
