During the week from Monday 13th June to Friday 17th June our Prep School pupils across all year groups have been well and truly immersed in our STEAM Enrichment Week activities. Every day has been packed full of excitement, enthusiasm, learning and fun for all pupils.

From rockets to crazy contraptions, crime investigation and planet creation, to trips visiting museums, the zoo, a stud farm, on boats, seeing and flying (all be it virtually) planes, fixing bikes and launching kites, there hasn’t been a moment where children weren’t engaged in one activity or another.

Dedicated periods of immersive and creative teaching like this are so crucial to igniting our pupils’ love of learning, which is central to our Framlingham College education. A huge thanks to all the staff who have so utterly embraced the essence of the events and to our pupils who provided willingness to participate, the eagerness to learn and the positive reactions that remind us why at Framlingham College we enjoy doing what we do so much.

Whole School House Rocket Competition

Throughout the week every pupil in each year group made their own rockets and launched them in a bid to see whose could soar the furthest. The house winners for each year group were entered into the grand final, held with the whole school in attendance on Friday 17th June. Points for each rocket’s finishing position were tallied, and the house with the most points overall taking the Rocket Challenge Champion Title. Congratulations to all the year group winners and our overall winning houses Constable and Gainsborough.

Whole School Crazy Contraptions Challenge

Throughout the week all year groups used their ingenious engineering skills to create clever obstacle runs using only everyday objects found in their classroom. Linking all the runs together saw the crazy contraptions reach from the Early Years building around the school all the way to Mr Egan’s study. An amazing effort from everyone.
