On two evenings last week Framlingham College Prep School held its annual Poetry by Heart competitions to mark National Poetry Day.

This year we had separate senior and junior competitions with poems ranging from Robert Burns to Spike Milligan from Shakespeare to Lewis Carroll. The junior competition was won by Amy Orford, with Jake Croft-Sharland and Polly Atkin in joint second place and Oscar Franklin in third. The senior competition was won by Finlay Bloore, with Jim King in second and Theodore Shah and James Aldous in joint third.

Many thanks to our judges Georgie Ross, Leo Goldsmith, Tony Lawrence and Jan Farmery and congratulations to all of the children from Year 4 to 8 who learnt a poem by heart.
