On Wednesday our Year 12 artists were treated to a glorious day of tours, tasks and workshops at the magical Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge.

Their education officer Imogen introduced Jim’s fantastic house to our students where they fell in love with the light and the “conversation” between the objects placed in the space. Through a series of tasks Imogen helped our students to really “see” and consider aspects of composition and placement in ways they may not previously have noticed.

The Fine Artists and Photographers split to explore the older parts of this enchanting house before being introduced to the work of Columbian Artist Oscar Murillo in the gallery space. His work was the inspiration for the workshop led by artist in residence, Laura Hindmarsh. During the workshop Laura helped them with some truly out of the box thinking and responding in ways that our students do not ordinarily get the opportunity to explore. An inspirational day for all.
