Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June saw the College host a series of events for the annual OF Sports Weekend.

This year the weekend began with an OF hockey tournament on Inskips at 1pm. The OFs impressively fielded three mixed hockey teams for the tournament. Well done to the OF Magpies, captained by Emily Wilford, who were victorious again this year. Mr Myers-Allen presented the shield and then all the players and their supporters joined guests and staff for tea in the café to say a very fond farewell to Mr Cooke. Over 60 visiting OFs and their families congratulated Michael on his incredible 42 years of service to the school and to his surprise renowned singer OF Christina Johnston performed two songs – it was a fitting and emotional send off.

In the evening OFs gathered for the Summer Ball for 80s & 90s Leavers. The occasion was held in the marquee and started with a reception drink watching the sun set over the new pavilion. The wine flowed, food was served, and conversations got louder and louder. The night culminated in OFs queuing in 80s and 90s dressing up clothes for the popular photo booth and large groups of friends reliving their teenage school years, if only for a few hours, by dancing together to the band. It was an evening that summed up the very best of College hospitality and the warm relationships forged between students at the College and fostered by the SOF beyond. Many OFs hadn’t seen the College or each other for 25 years. Midnight came round far too quickly and guests left promising to stay in touch and make sure that the next excuse for sharing a meal and chatting all night would be much sooner than the last.

On Sunday OF, Staff and College teams enjoyed playing a series of cricket matches on The Back – each team winning one match.

Simultaneously, on Lords, the College 3rd team played Margaretting CC. This match is organised annually by Bob Skitch and OF Chris Bellamy. Players and supporters enjoyed BBQs and tea, and many retired to the pub afterwards to continue their celebrations.

Results: Framlingham College X1 148, won by 21 runs, Margaretting X1 127
