Pre-Prep pupils and parents came together to delight in the new Prep School library space this term, taking part in a new Reading Café initiative designed to ignite the imaginations of our Prep School children and inspire a lifelong love for reading.

They were lucky enough to hear from established author Kate Rolfe, who gave a reading of her new heartfelt story, “Wolf and Bear.” Kate’s visit provided the opportunity for the Prep School to officially open the new library space, during which she ignited everyone’s imagination with her own creativity, after which parents and their children were able to enjoy reading stories together and explore the the selection of new books in the revamped library.

The event forms part of a wider programme of activity to celebrate the joy of reading, led by Assistant Head, Teaching and Learning, Lucy Manning.  She said: “The Reading Cafe is part of our ongoing efforts to foster a passion for reading among our pupils. We want to provide as many opportunities as possible for parents to share a love of books with their children and provide unique opportunities for our pupils to meet a real-life authors, learn about the creative process behind their favourite stories and encourage our children to explore their own storytelling abilities.”
