After taking a few minutes to find our feet against our first opposition, Thomas Mills High School, the team made a convincing and encouraging start to the match. Strong defensive work along with some quick and effective attacking centres initiated by Amelia and Alana kept the opposition’s score down to just 3 goals against our 9 by half time. The second half saw some superb shooting from both Bella at GA and Sophie at GS, who managed to boost our full time score up to 26-4.

In our next match against Hartismere, our attacking play and specifically, our feeds into the circle stood out, with both Emily and Amelia at C creating multiple opportunities for our shooters, Louisa and Bella, with an impressive final score of 22-2.

The final match against Bungay proved to be our toughest game of the day. However, with some excellent play down the court by all of our players, determined defence and accurate shooting, we only conceded one goal by full time. Jas at WD deserves a special mention in this match for her drive off of our defensive centres, managing to turn over multiple centres gaining some impressive interceptions.

All the girls played with determination and skill throughout the day and should be excited for the season ahead; I definitely am! The tournament highlighted both our strengths as a new team whilst also giving us some clear targets to strive for and improve as we prepare ourselves for the County Finals on November 11th.
