Year 12 English Literature students competed to provide the best analysis of a series of testing poems.

This half term, the Lower Sixth English Society moved on to the 17th century schools of poetry, having covered Chaucer and Shakespeare last term. The two classes mingled with some drinks and snacks before a short lecture from Mr Goldsmith on the Cavalier and Metaphysical poets of the 17th Century. Trios of students then had to work against the clock to read, analyse and present back on some poems by writers such as Herrick and Donne. Pictured here (and striking a pose) are the winning team of Amelia Schroeter, Matt Elwes and Felix Heywood.
