The History Society held its final meeting of term at 8.00pm in the Boardroom on Thursday, an opportunity for students to enjoy an event hosted by Mr Robinson whose skills as a Quiz Master are legendary.

Freddie Green’s Elves were pitched against Dougal’s Dragons, and although the Dragons took an early lead, skilful weighting of marks by the Question Master, (a bit like AQA bar the ‘skilful’), ensured a close finish. Aby was on good form as ever, while Sketch looked as if she was going for bronze, but the evening peaked early with the scholarly discussion between Messrs Parford and Green on whether Operation Sea-Lion was actually launched, while the rest of us knew Operation Stilton was the odd one out! There was a grain or two of wheat amongst the chaff, and students went away having wolfed the cookies, and having learnt more than they probably realised.
