Well done to our amazing Prep School swimmers who qualified and took part in the National finals at the London Aquatic Centre on Saturday June 8th.  Everyone performed exceptionally well and were a credit to the school proving that those early morning swim sessions were worth it!

There were some outstanding individual performances. Alex Harrop represented us in the in the under 11 50m boys backstroke recording a time of 36.49 – 1.6 seconds faster than his qualifying time at the regionals in Culford in March and securing 8th position nationally. More success beckoned. Toby Jackson was the fastest qualifier in the under 12 50m Freestyle event recording a time of 28.92 – 1.45 seconds faster than the time recorded at the regionals. Toby went on to secure 2nd place in the finals bringing home a silver medal. Emily Brayshaw qualified in 20th position in Bury St Edmunds and was promoted to 15th place nationally. More success followed with an outstanding swim by Anna Cogdell in the finals of the 50m Freestyle securing 8th place in a time of 30.51 seconds. A wonderful team performance by our under 10 girls 4 x 25m Freestyle relay reducing their regional time by 4.5seconds. The relay team were represented by Evie Tassell, Pip Stimpson, Xanthe Eilledge and Jessica Lamprell with Grace Gurr as reserve. All of our swimmers recorded p b’s (personal best).

A personal thank you to all swimmers that not only took part in this event, but also those swimmers that are committed to swim squad training sessions. Thank you also to the staff that contribute to making our swimming coaching program a success.
