Framlingham College staff and students have been honouring the almost 900 USA airmen that lost their lives whilst operating from the airbase at Parham near Framlingham.

A wreath was laid to the haunting sounds of the Last Post and Reveille on a bugle. The control tower memorial was set up on the remains of the airfield, together with a museum to help future generations remember the heroic acts of the young aircrew from the 390th Bomb Group, 8th United States Army Air Force. Articles and pictures have been sent to the few remaining veterans and their families in the United States, which has provided comfort for them in remembrance of the sacrifice that was made by so many.
