Both schools were without a number of their lower handicappers due to various reasons from exam revision to European golf competitions but this gave an opportunity for a number of other pupils to experience a world-class course. Despite Culford winning on the day, the result was of little consequence as a number of new friendships were formed. The day consisted of 18-hole foursomes, lunch and 18-hole singles in the afternoon.

Special mention to Theo Wild, Year 7, who held his own around 36 holes against a much older opponent. Julius Shenk also impressed and his hard work on the practice ground clearly paid off.

The staff match saw some mixed moments of quality from both sides, with mixed teams consisting from a range departments including Sport, Marketing, Geography and a School Chaplain!

Framlingham College Master i/c Golf, Dougal Lyon said “A fantastic day: It was great to see Prep School pupils from both schools mixing with senior pupils. The opportunity to play 36 holes was a great experience for all players. There were some closely fought matches with others finishing out in the Suffolk countryside! We very much look forward to the return fixture next year.”
