Framlingham College hosted its Annual Prep Schools’ Rugby Festival on Saturday, with 15 teams in attendance, including a rugby club side for the first time as we welcomed our good friends from Southwold RFC. Teams came from all over the East of England with the emphasis being very much on participation and enjoyment.

Our U13 and U10 teams continued their outstanding starts to the season remaining unbeaten throughout the festival, attacking with flair and defending with resilience in testing conditions.

The U13s played Gresham’s Prep, St John’s Cambridge, Beeston Hall and St Faith’s (Cambridge) winning a titanic battle where we were camped in our own 22 for large parts of the game. The U10s who been showing enormous promise already this term won their games St Faith’s, v Southwold Rugby Club, v St John’s (Cambridge) and v Beeston Hall (Norfolk) and drew with an excellent Widford Lodge (Essex) side.

Director of Sport and Head of Rugby, Nick Gandy, commented, ‘we always enjoy hosting these events and our Sports, Catering and Grounds Departments always go the extra mile to provide a memorable experience for our visitors. I hope that we can further expand the Festival next year and build on its ongoing success.’
