Framlingham College marked Remembrance Sunday with a service dedicated to the 176 students who gave their lives as the ultimate act of service for our Country.
The occasion was attended by over 200 guests with senior military dignitaries commenting that it was the finest Remembrance Service that they have ever been fortunate to attend. The Chapel Choir produced a version of Paul Mealor’s ‘Peace’ that moved the congregation deeply. The Address by Chaplain Rev Brynn Bayman reminded all in attendance that the poetry read by Head of School, René Bahar and our prep school student heads, Joe Cockle and Ruby Sheepshanks means we need to ‘Abide in the Love’ of those who served and find ways to be ‘More than Conquerors’.
The wreath of remembrance was laid by Lt Colonel M. Myers-Allen. Most fitting, was how at the close of the service, members of the congregation laid a poppy on the Altar for each of the students and staff who have given their life in the ultimate act of service.
