It’s time to get Mo-ving for Movember!

As November 1st approaches, Framlingham College is preparing to take part in the annual charity fundraiser for Movember with our biggest challenge ever!

This year, we are launching an ‘Around The World’ collaborative initiative with the goal to cover 24,901 miles – the circumference of the Earth – in one month.

Not only is it a chance to get active and raise money for one of the UKs leading charities, but also allows everyone to talk openly about the importance of physical and mental health – something which Framlingham College integrates into everyday life for pupils.

Time to get inspired to grow some fabulous facial hair!

Our challenge is open to all members of our school community – from parents, teachers, governors as well as all pupils across both the Senior School and Prep School.

Whether you choose to walk, run, trek, cycle, row, swim, or gallop we are asking those who take part to track their mileage in order to collate an accurate final distance figure at the end of the month.

As well as the ‘Around the World’ challenge, we are also encouraging Year 13, staff, parents, and governors to grow some fabulous facial hair during the month of November – alongside other exciting events at the school during the month – watch this space!

Deputy Head of Pastoral, Oliver Lloyd said: “Movember offers us the chance to highlight the importance of men’s health, raise money and have fun doing so.

“We are encouraging everyone to join in and contribute whatever mileage they can to get us all collectively ‘Around the World’. I hope that with involvement from pupils, staff, parents, and governors we help us achieve at least 24,901 miles together.”

As the UK’s leading charity devoted to men’s health, Movember helps to improve lives with mental health aid as well as funding for research towards curing and supporting those with prostate and testicular cancer.
