Framlingham College’s 1st XI girls travelled to the Olympic Park for the third year in a row to represent the East of England at the Investec National Hockey Finals.

After losing their first group match to the reigning champions and eventual winners, Repton School, they pulled themselves together and beat Dean Close and Stockport Grammar School both 1-0 to qualify for the bronze medal match.

Former Double Olympic Hockey star and Senior Deputy, Susan Wessels, who travelled with the squad along with Head of Hockey, Jamie Kingstone said, ‘The girls played exceptionally well to beat a strong Trent College team 2-1 to win the bronze medal. This is a remarkable achievement and the College is very proud of the girls.’

The Headmaster, Paul Taylor added ‘I am so pleased for these girls, and for their coach, Jamie Kingstone. They have worked so hard and fully deserve this achievement’.
