For the third year in a row, Upper Sixth English Literature students travelled to London for the annual EMC conference.

The English and Media Centre is one of the leading organisations supporting and promoting the study of English and their annual conference, aimed at Sixth Formers, is a real highlight of the academic year. This year’s speakers included Prof. Katy Shaw, novelist Michael Donkor, Sarah Crown (Director of Literature at the Arts Council England) and Radio 4 presenter and author Natalie Haynes. The sessions were well-paced, intellectually stimulating and our students emerged with some very useful notes – and fizzing with ideas. The panel’s reading recommendations will now go on to Firefly to inspire other Framlingham Sixth Formers.
