On Wednesday 5th May, Framlingham College Senior Deputy Head, Susan Wessels visited Woodford Green Prep School in Essex to coach a hockey session to aspiring youngsters.

Susan represented South Africa at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and later as captain at Athens in 2004. Susan made almost 150 appearances for her country and also captained the national team at the 2003 All-Africa games in Nigeria in which they were champions.

Susan has been Senior Deputy Head at Framlingham College Boarding and Day School in Suffolk since 2011 and shares her sporting experiences with the pupils on a daily basis through coaching and through the mental game. Susan has recently returned to playing national league hockey but enjoys a range of other sports these days including tennis and golf, where she is a single-figure player and has competed in a number of triathlons.
