Congratulations to Year 9 cricketer Sophie Singer who has been picked for the Regional Emerging Player Programme (EPP).
The EPP supports players, girls and boys, who have the necessary aptitude, attitude, desire and athleticism to be potential future elite cricketers.
Indeed, Essex County Cricket Club describe the programme as being “an elite programme which focuses on the development of players in the Under 14 and 15 age group who the County feel have potential to progress towards first-class cricket.”
Sophie, who is top ladies run scorer in Suffolk boasting a 123*, will be attending the regional sessions which begin in November 2019.
Sophie is following a similar pathway taken by Hollie Dring-Richardson (Year 10), who also attended the Elite Players Programme while playing for Essex U15 in 2018.
“Sophie has already thrown herself into life here at Framlingham College in Year 9 and has started training already. She has had a successful season of cricket for both club and county scoring consistent runs at the top of the order. She scored over 400 runs at an average of 51.25 with a highest score of 123 not out for Suffolk this year which read as great stats. Therefore she thoroughly deserves further opportunity to impress and develop so well done her and we wish her well moving forward.” – Chris Gange, Head of Cricket.
