I am delighted to share with you the appointment of Mrs Louise North as the new Head of Framlingham College from September 2019.

Louise is currently Senior Deputy Head at Oakham School, a large co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 10 to 18 and with many similarities to Framlingham. Following a degree in French and Spanish from Durham University, Louise began her teaching career at St Peter’s School, York, in 1994, and after stints as a Boarding Housemistress at both Glenalmond and Marlborough College, she joined Stonyhurst College as Deputy Head (Upper School) prior taking up her current post in January 2015.

Louise has an outstanding reputation among HMC schools and has an extensive and consistent record of achievement at each of the above schools. She is an experienced ISI Inspector and indeed was part of the Inspection Team during our own successful inspection in 2015. Louise is married to Dominic, a rare and fine books dealer, and they have two children who will be joining the College and Prep School.

Your Board of Governors is unreservedly confident in its decision and is resolute in its determination to ensure that the remarkable achievement of Paul Taylor will be used as a foundation in carrying forward our commitment to you and to the pupils in our charge. In what proved to be an exceptionally competitive selection process, conducted at full Board level, Louise revealed in full measure the vision, energy and tenacity of purpose required to do just that.

With very best wishes,

T.W Rimmer
Chairman of Governors
