Framlingham College’s 2017-18 Academic Scholars’ Dinner took place on a balmy Spring evening last Friday. After a drinks reception, Joseph Most and Marty Gionis kicked off the evening with a lively jazz workout as guests moved into the dining hall to find their seats. Two more musicans played between courses and everyone enjoyed Jemma Crossley and Eleanor Petheram’s solo vocal performances. The catering and serving staff presented a superb menu and the evening was topped off by an excellent after-dinner speech from our guest, Clare Matterson CBE. Clare is the new Director of Engagement for the Natural History Museum and spoke eloquently about her scientific heroes and the need for everyone to embrace science to help solve some of the most pressing problems of the modern world. A number of our students asked some probing questions in the Q&A section too – an inspiring evening for all who attended.
