Welcome to the Admissions section of the website, here you should find all the information required before joining Framlingham College. We understand that choosing the right school for your child is important and often complicated, at Framlingham College we try to make this decision as simple as possible. Should you have any further questions about joining please be assured that you are welcome to contact our Admissions Office at any time to talk through the process.
Process
After visiting at an Open Day, Taster Day or Individual Visit, parents are invited to register. Registration usually occurs at least a year before entry, but later applications are always considered if space allows. The assessment of applicants is conducted via Common Entrance* and an interview. Places are offered at the beginning of the March subject to Common Entrance results in June. However, no place will be offered without a full reference from the pupil’s current school.
Scholarships
Scholarship candidates are assessed in the Spring Term; details can be found here.
Learning Support
We welcome pupils who require learning support, providing the specific needs of the child can be managed within the school’s normal provision. Parents are advised to discuss their child’s individual needs as early as possible so that we can assess, together with parents and the child’s current school, whether the College will provide the right learning environment for the child to reach their full potential.
* For those who have not been prepared for Common Entrance, places are offered after Entrance assessments in the Spring Term preceding entry. These consist of English and Maths papers, based on the National Curriculum for which no special preparation is needed/expected.
