Boarding prices

Our priority for pupils who are full or weekly boarding is to ensure they feel at home here. We facilitate this by offering every pupil who boards a reserved bed each night during term time. We also offer occasional boarding, where pupils have the option to stay over whenever there is an activity they want to join in with or whenever it suits them and their parents. It’s about offering our pupils every flexibility to enjoy the school facilities and activities once the school day is finished. While priority is naturally given to full boarders, we will do our best to accommodate any last-minute request to stay over from occasional/flexi boarders.

Information

Reductions for Siblings

When three or more children of the same family are current pupils, a 18.2% (Senior School) / 17.6% (Prep School) reduction of the Day fee will be given to the third child and a 45.3% (Senior School) / 43.9% (Prep School) reduction of the Day fee will be given to any further children.

Reductions for HM Forces and FCO Personnel

The MOD insists that eligible personnel make a minimum contribution of 10% towards school fees, but they will not fund more than the maximum amount that they set each year. For service families in receipt of the MOD CEA, the College will offer a standardised 10% reduction on full boarding fees. This fee reduction will be applicable for all siblings of a family who wish to join the College.

What is included in the fees/extra charges?

No extra charge is made for using standard College facilities, games, medical attention within the College and everyday laundry (excluding suits) or linen repairs. Essential texts are not charged to pupils if returned in good condition and by the required deadline.

Pupils may be required to purchase some stationery items and Sixth Form texts. Fees for external exams are charged to parents. Costs for membership of Clubs & Societies such as CCF, as well as the cost of some trips and excursions, are charged to parents. At the College a small termly charge is added to fund House activities, and a further charge is applicable to fund Sixth Form activities. Transport organised by the College, including the school bus, trains and taxis are charged to parents.

Fees for individual instrumental and singing tuition are payable directly to relevant visiting music teachers.

Fees and Withdrawal

Termly fees are normally paid in four monthly direct debit instalments each term, starting in the September of the year of entry. The monthly instalments are collected on the 15th of the month, or the next working day should this fall on a weekend or bank holiday.

  • Autumn Term fees – collected in September, October, November & December;
  • Spring Term fees – collected in January, February, March & April;
  • Summer Term fees – collected in May, June, July & August.

Alternatively, fees may be paid in full on or before the first day of each term for which they are due. Bank payment or cheque payment is accepted. Governors reserve the right to refuse admission to a pupil or to require the withdrawal of an existing pupil whose fees are not paid.

Bank details for the transfer of fees, or the payment of a Registration fee or deposit can be found here.

Extras incurred by pupils during the term are invoiced at the end of the relevant term. These invoices are due on receipt and are not collected through direct debit. Bank payment or cheque payment is accepted.

A full term’s notice is required for the withdrawal of a pupil, change of status, or discontinuation of an optional extra. A full term’s fees, or the charge for the optional extra, is payable unless such notice has been given. Please see the Parent Contract for full details of notice periods.

Many employers offer their employees access to childcare vouchers through salary sacrifice schemes. We are able to accept childcare vouchers for payment of:

  • Nursery fees
  • Boarding fees for any pupil up to, and including, the Summer Term of the academic year in which they turn 15. This can include Full Boarding, Weekly Boarding, Part Boarding and Occasional Boarding fees.

Please note that childcare vouchers cannot be accepted for payment of day fees (Reception – Year 13).

Early Education Funding is available for eligible children over 3 years old.
