The team got off to a very encouraging start in their first match against Ipswich, with a half time score of 4-4. We dominated the second half of the match with some very accurate shooting and relentless defensive work, bringing the final score to 8-4 to Framlingham.

Our next match of the morning was against a strong, fast-paced Culford side. However, our attacking circle feeds and rotating play managed to quickly set us ahead. With a final score of 11-4 to our team, we were setting ourselves in good stead for the rest of the tournament.

We faced a tough County Upper team in our final match of the morning which required consistent determination and grit from all of the girls, and this we showed in abundance. With a final winning score of 11-4, the team displayed some excellent drives through the court, especially in the centre, and disrupted much of the opposition’s play.

Having won all the matches in our pool, our semi-final match set us against a strong Thurston team who challenged our squad throughout the short playing time. We made some excellent drives down the court, shot well, and worked tirelessly in defence. However, Thurston were able to turn over some crucial centres, meaning that the final score ended in an incredibly close 8-9 loss.

Despite not being able to go through to the Regionals on the back of this result, the team played with determination and positivity throughout the day and have proven that next season is going to be a very exciting one! The girls should all be incredibly proud of their efforts and look forward to a great season in January.
