By: Leo Goldsmith – Head of English, Framlingham College

Framlingham College students kicked off a series of events and displays marking the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death with a photo competition.

They were challenged to produce an original photo which was influenced by a quote or a particular Shakespeare play or character.

Quirky, humorous entries jostled with more serious interpretations but the quality of entries was uniformly high. Mr Goldsmith, Head of English, judged the overall winner to be Britta Raspe, Cosi Ross and Amelia Schroeter’s (all Year 10) picture depicting the death of Ophelia from ‘Hamlet’ because of its lush use of props and interesting composition.
