School Nurse - Framlingham College

We require a qualified NMC registered nurse to join our busy school Medical Centre.

Summary

This is on a permanent basis, to grow and develop the provision of health care to the school community. The position will involve providing first-line day and on-call overnight medical cover to pupils.

The successful candidates will respond to pupil health issues that arise, carrying out vaccination programmes, offering advice to pupils and staff, liaising with other medical professionals and parents as well providing medical support at sporting fixtures. Experience in A&E, practice or paediatric nursing would be an advantage though not essential.

The post is part time, term time, plus additional days in school holidays for planning and training purposes. The shift requirements are; three day shifts each week, two ‘on calls’ and one weekend every half term. The shift patterns can be discussed further at interview. 

Rates of pay are £17.24 per hour basic, plus enhanced rates for evenings, weekends and overnight “call-out” shifts.

For overnight shifts applicants will be required to either reside within approx. 15 minutes driving time of Framlingham or operate on these nights from the self-contained accommodation provided.
