Framlingham College is a co-educational day and boarding school comprising of the Prep School in the beautiful surroundings of Brandeston Hall, and the Senior School which is set in the stunning surroundings in the market town of Framlingham. Our busy Medical Centre supports around 700 pupils across both sites.

We require a qualified NMC registered Nurse to join our busy school Medical Centre. This is on a permanent basis to grow, lead and develop the provision of health care to the school community.

This will involve leading and developing a team of nurses, ensuring the highest standards of professional care throughout. You will be overseeing the day-to day operation of the Medical Centre to provide a high quality provision at both schools. Previous experience of leading or managing a team is essential. The core role for this post is School Nurse, in addition the postholder will receive a management allowance for the role of “Lead Nurse”.

The position will involve providing first-line day and on-call overnight medical cover to pupils. You will respond to pupil’s health issues that arise, organising vaccination programmes with the school’s immunisation team, offering advice to pupils and staff, liaising with other medical professionals and parents. Experience in A&E, practice nursing, school nursing or paediatric nursing would be an advantage.

The post is working term time, plus 10 additional days in school holidays for planning and training purposes. It is envisaged that 4.5 day shifts Monday-Friday are required to be worked over five days, hours to be flexible as per the needs of the medical centre and the school.

Rates of pay are £16.91 per hour basic, plus enhanced rates for evenings, weekends and overnight “call-out” shifts.

For overnight shifts applicants will be required to either reside within 30 minutes driving time of Framlingham or operate on these nights from the self-contained accommodation provided.
