John Ellerby was born in Ipswich and educated at Brandeston Hall, Framlingham College and Edinburgh University gaining an MA Honours in German.
He spent all of his career from 1980 at HSBC in Jersey, Southampton and London where he was latterly Finance Director of HSBC’s UK Asset Management business. He has been a Trustee of the Society of Old Framlinghamians for 3 years and has recently taken over as Chairman.
John is married with one son, two daughters and two dogs. His interests include golf, cricket and walking. He lives in Winchester though still has family connections in Suffolk with a mother and sister in Framlingham and a brother near Orford.
