Swimming Gala Sees Records Broken

Wednesday 22 Jan 2020

Last night we hosted a fantastically close Swimming Gala between our Prep School, Finborough and Old Buckenham Hall.

Fielding two teams; Fram Sharks and Fram Whales, it was a night that saw 4 existing records broken and 2 new records set.

Toby J (Year 8) broke both his own records in the U13 40m Freestyle and the 20m Fly.  His younger brother Sam J (Year 5) also broke his own record in the U11 40m Freestyle.

The U11 Girls’ Relay team of Xanthe E, Jess L, Pip S and Evie T  (all in Year 6) broke their own record in the U11 4 x 20m Freestyle Relay.

Two new records in the 40m Fly were set – Pip S (Year 6) shaved 8 seconds off her training time trial completing it in 33.22 and Billy A (Year 8) improved his time to 35.83.

In addition, 27 swimmers (over 50% of competitors) set new PBs.

With the IAPS Competition in the horizon, it looks set to be an exciting term.
